What is abazab?

abazab is an Internet service keen on helping people share their lives whenever and wherever it happens. We make it super easy to publish video clips, photos, audio and text straight from your camera phone or webcam right to an abazab Playbox on your MySpace profile, Xanga page, blog or other web page. Your friends can even respond back to you in your abazab Playbox when they visit your site or profile. Sort of like an answering machine but better, you can keep your profile fresh with the latest moments of your life and your friends can leave comments in multimedia back to you too.

What is an abazab Playbox?

The abazab Playbox is a little video recorder and player that lets you share what's happening in your life to the world.

There's no download required and it works in all browsers. Once you add a small code snippet of html to your site (just a quick copy and paste) you'll get a display of your very own abazab Playbox. This will show your videos clips and the clips, comments, and messages that you get back from your friends. You will even be able to leave clips from your phone or webcam on your friends' abazab Playboxes.

How can I use abazab?

You can capture the cool things happening around you with your camera phone and share them instantly.

You can use it like a video answering machine to collect feedback and comments from people.
You can comment using multimedia and share short videos on your friend's abazab Playboxes.
Want to send a smile and a wink to a friend? Do it with abazab.
Want to leave yourself a reminder? Video or audio record it and send it to your abazab player.
Doing a photo or video scavenger hunt? What a great way to collect & share this with your friends.

Getting Started

How do I get started?

First sign up! We'll send you an email with a link to create your own Playbox. Then just copy and paste your code snippet into any page where you want your Playbox to appear. It's that easy, and of course, it's free!

Please do! The more people who sign up for abazab, the better feedback we will get.

Using abazab

How do I upload video clips from my computer?

Just login to the Playbox and click "Add a Clip". Then select the file to upload and click "Upload". Depending upon the size of the clip (up to 100MB!), it may take a few minutes for the clip to be processed for viewing.

How do I post video clips from my phone?

If you can send an MMS or email with a video attachments from your phone, then you can post from your phone to abazab. Just send a message with your attached video clip to <your_username>@zab.bz.

How do I post video clips from my webcam?

If you have a webcam you can also post new video clips or comments to your own or other people's abazab Playboxes from your computer. You will be asked for permission to access your webcam and then you'll be able to record and publish your webcam video clip from there.

How do I add clips, comments, and messages to other abazab Playboxes besides my own?

If you've already signed up for abazab this is super quick and easy. Simply log in and click "Add a Clip". Then select Webcam. Just remember to be nice when you're leaving clips for people. You wouldn't want people to be mean to you either, would you?

Delays in publishing video comments may be a result of moderation settings on that specific Playbox.

How do I know that my phone will work with abazab?

Excellent question! We've put together a list of all known North American camera phone models that are currently able to send video to abazab. We'll be updating this list often so check back if you get yourself a new toy. Regular camera phones that cannot record or send video but can take pictures can still send photos to an abazab Playbox.

This email address is tied to your phone number when you signed up and will publish on your Playbox. If your Playbox is on a number of websites like Myspace, Friendster, Tagworld, Xanga, and your own blog, it'll publish your new clip everywhere your Playbox is located. If you want to share a video or photo on your friend's Playbox, just send it to their [your_friends_username]@zab.bz email address.

You will need to have a standard camera phone with a multimedia messaging plan to be able to use abazab from your phone.

What cellular companies do you currently support?

abazab currently supports most North American mobile phone carriers. Some details can be found here. Additionally, we are aggressively working to offer international support. As a reminder, please make sure you have an appropriate multimedia messaging plan when you are sending multimedia messages from your phone. Sending any messages with your phone may incur additional charges.
